Mode Selection
The Operating Mode Selection switch, located on each unit’s front panel, controls the operating mode of the DVI Optical KVM Extender system. Pressing the switch toggles the operating mode as follows:

When the system is in Local Mode, the Remote unit’s selection switch is inactive. Pressing it has no effect – the Remote operator cannot take over control. The Remote selection switch only becomes active after the Local selection switch is pressed to put the system back into Auto Mode.
Likewise, if the system is in Remote Mode, the Local unit’s selection switch is inactive – the Local operator cannot take over control. The Local selection switch only becomes active after the Remote selection switch is pressed to put the system back into Auto Mode.
