Starting Windows®withTelevision Display Enabled
The televisionscreen may become scrambled temporarily during the initial
Windows®logo display. This is only a temporary effect and your television
screenwill be restored withina fewseconds.
Duringstart u p, your VideoOut graphics card will go through a sequence of
mode settings during which your televisiondisplay will remain blank. This
processtakes only a few seconds and helps program the television display.
Using a Monitor vs. Using the TelevisionDisplay
Usingyour televisionfor your computer’s display is ideal for playing games,
givingpresentations, watching movies, and browsing the Internet. The display on
your monitor may change or looked squashed. This occurs because the display
adjuststo fit the dimensionsof your television.To correct the monitor’s display,
use the controls on the monitor to adjust the display size and position.
Somesingle frequency monitors may not work with television display enabled. If
youexperience problems when television display is enabled, disable television
displayto restore your monitor’sdisplay.
Adjusting Monitor Display
The size of the display on your monitor may be smaller and not perfectly
centeredwhen you have television display enabled. These effects are caused by
thechanges requiredto providea proper display on the television.
Usethe controls available on the Adjustments tab on the Monitor Properties page
(clickontheMonitor buttonon the ATI Displays page) to adjust the display on
yourmonitor only. Click on the Television button to adjust the televisiondisplay
only.
ViewingText on Television
Due to the differenttechnology used in the manufacturing of televisions and PC
monitors,standard PC text may look too small on your television.You can
compensate for thisby using larger fonts.
ToUse Larger Display Fonts
1StartWindows®.
2ClickStart.
3Pointto Settings, then click ControlPanel.
4Double-clickDisplay.
5ClickontheSettings tab.
6Inthe Font Size box, select the size you want your displayed fonts to be.
Windows®98 / Me / 2000 users: Click on the Advanced button; then select
yourfont size.
7ClickOK or Ap ply;then follow the onscreen instructions to save your new
settings.
