IR ILLUMINATOR
Infra-red ( IR) Illumin ators are common for
night vision technolo gy. The IR light greatly
enhances the performa nce of you r Ari es
scope, while remaini ng almost totally invi s-
ible to the naked eye. In dark environmen t,
power up the Aries scope. Now, find a scene
and examine it without the IR on then with IR
powered up. Note the difference in illumina-
tion. It is important to remember that the IR
illuminator is simply an infra red light source,
and like any light source it may loose its
effectiveness over a great distance.
To fix the IR Ill uminator to the ri flescope
screw the thumb s crew on the IR into the
thread on the scope. To switch the IR on and
to adjust the brig htness rotate t he rheostat
located on the side of the Illuminator. T he
changes of a djustment c ould be ob served
while looking through the scope. The IR is
off when the mark on the rheostat coincides
with “0” on the scale.
NOTE: The riflescope could be equipped with
digitally controlled IR.
The IR illu minator control buttons are
located on its s ide. To switch the Di gital IR
illuminator o n/off pr ess “+” and “-” button s
simultaneous ly. When the IR illuminato r is
switched on you can se e the green LED lit.
By pushing the butt ons “+” and “-” you may
adjust the IR brightness.
The IR beam is focusable to change the
field of coverage. To change the beam width
slightly turn the IR lens.
You could change the IR control panel fitting
your nee ds. Th e screw -tool included into
the set should be used fo r weakening the
fixing screw located on the IR. Rotate the IR
placing at in the most con venient posit ion.
Tighten the screw w ith the screw-to ol to fix
the new position.
The range finder reticle in Aries 6900/7900 /
8900 was d esigned to assist yo u in deter-
mining the range of your target.
These distances are based on a 6’ target.
A 6’ target fits between the numbered base-
line (the three short horizon tal lines directly
next to the numbers) and the main ho rizon-
tal line. If the 6’ target fits between the 1 and
the right horizontal post of the main line the
target is 100 yards away. If the same tar get
fits between the 2 and the right post of main
line the target is 200 yards away. The same
is with the three, the target is 300 yards
away.
Aries 390 reti cle gives a c learly aiming
point, even when hard-to -see game blends
into the backgr ound. Thinner posts and
crosshairs cente r s ection covers a mini-
mum of the targ et and allow fo r less target
coverage, making pre cision shots on small
targets easy.
Heavy po sts stan d out against cover a nd
leads your eye directl y to the center in ter-
section. The result is fast precision aiming.
