WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS
• Alway s re member to turn off the Aries
scope when it is not in us e. If you do n ot
plan on using your aries scope for a period
of more than 10 days, you should remove
the batteries.
• Keep le ns cap/ daylight filter on when
not in use.
• Avoid contact with dust, steam, and gas.
• The Aries scope are not harmful to the user
or the environment.
• Do not d isasse mble exc ept to c lean th e
front len s and the eyepiec e: it wil l void
your warrant y.
• Evaluate the sco pes funct ion by looking
through it in a lit envi ronment with the
daylight f ilter le ns cap on. Ne ver use in
daylight without the daylight filter lens cap
on. Do not surpass ten minutes of testing.
Never point the Arie s scope at a bright
light source. If th e scope shuts off auto-
matically afte r directing it a t a bright light
source, turn the unit off and wait 1 - 2 min-
utes before turning the unit back on.
• Adverse atm ospheric co nditions su ch as
fog, smog, or haze a nd a lack of ambie nt
light (moon or star light) may dimini sh the
effective viewing distance . All technic al
data for this unit was compiled in a control-
led environment.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Q: Flashes, flicke rs, or clicking occ ur while
operating
S: If it occurs withi n the first five minutes of
inserting new batteri es, it is normal and the
device will resume n ormal oper ation soon
thereafter. If it occurs for more than 10 min-
utes, contact your dealer or other authorized
service r epresentative for ser vice in struc-
tions.
Q: Dark spots on screen.
S: Thi s may be dust on the lens, please
clean a ccording to instrution s. They may
also be Cosmetic blemishes in the intensifier
tube which are a by-product of the manufac-
turing proce ss. This is normal and will n ot
affect the life or performance of the unit.
Q: Image not clear.
S: Adj ust fo cus r ing. If prob lem per sists,
increase viewing distance
Q: Fixed-pat tern noise i n a honeycomb
shape.
S: Usual ly a cosmetic blemish characte r-
ized by a faint honeycomb-type pattern. This
usually occurs whe n v iewing very bright
lights. Adju st the po tentiometer, to reduce
brightness.
Q: A pattern of dark thin lines which look like
chicken wire.
S: Turn on ill uminator, if p urchased. If illu-
minator doesn’ t brighten im age, replace
batteries. If problem pers ists, conta ct ATN
for service instructions.
You may need to clean the eyepiece of the
riflescope from time to time in order to guar-
antee top per formance. W hen you rece ive
your riflescope you should check for dust on
the eyepiece of the unit.
First you will need to re move the eyepiece.
To do that you will need to initially loosen the
2 set screws that can be found on the base.
Then unscrew the ey epiece counte r-clock-
wise to remove it.
NOTE: You do not ha ve to remove t he set
screws comp letely, they are very small and
easy to misplace.
CAUTION: Use only Photographic lens clean-
ing tissue o n these sur faces. Be c areful not
to scratch or smu dge any of these surfaces.
When using compres sed air to blow dust
away, make s ure to avo id inverti ng the can
while spraying. This can cause frozen propel-
lant to exit the can, whi ch can cause serio us
problems with the glass and phosphor screen.
