Removing an M-SPV/M-SPX

To remove an M-SPV/M-SPX perform the following steps:

1Release the two retaining screws, one at the top and one at the bottom of the module.

2Unfold the levers and gently slide the module out.

Replacing a Fan

Caution: The fan may rotate for a short while after it is removed from the Avaya M770.

Note: Although one fan is sufficient to cool the Avaya M770, it is recommended to use two fans to ensure maximum resiliance.

The fans are hot-swappable and interchangeable. One fan will fit on either the left or right side: turn the fan upside down if necessary.

To replace a fan perform the following steps (see Figure 4.1):

1Release the fan’s four screws and gently pull the unit out half way.

2Wait until the fan stops rotating, then pull it out all the way.

3Insert the replacement fan, ensuring that it is correctly aligned, and fasten the four screws.
