CREATING A PROGRAM

Once the device type and crossover type have been selected, the main screen will show blocks for each programmable section. The term “pro- gram” as used here is equivalent to “preset” as used on other program- mable devices.

When entering values into text boxes you can use your pointing device such as a mouse or touchpad. You can also use the up/down/left/right cur- sor arrows for certain functions such as Gain sliders and up/down incre- mental value arrows.

9.1GAINS:

Clicking on any box will open a new screen with tabs for all the programmable choices for that preset. If you click on Input A Gain, the screen will open displaying the Gain and related choices for all inputs and outputs. You can go to other parameters by simply click- ing on the appropriate tab.

To set the Gain for a channel, either use your pointing device to drag the slider to the appropriate setting, or enter a value directly into the text box under the slider. If a value beyond the operating range is entered, the system will default to the closest minimum or maximum setting.

The Output channels add check boxes for Mute and 180o. Mute turns the Output mutes on or off. If off, the default is for the channels to fade up when activated. The 180o when selected reverses the polarity of the signal for that channel.

These choices are also available for the selected output channel under the Out 1, Out 2, etc. tabs.

9.2DELAYS:

Clicking the Delays tab will open the Delays window. There is a text box for each output and a display Units selector. The routing of inputs to outputs is also displayed as is the crossover type. The Units selector gives you a choice of whether the delay is expressed in milliseconds, feet or meters. Use the up/down arrows to select the incremental values for each output and click OK when finished.

9.3LIMITERS:

(See page XX for explanation of each function). Set the desired value for each of the four parameters per Output channel. Note that Hold Time and Decay select in 10 ms incre- ments. If using the computer connected to a unit in real time with program material, the meters on the computer screen will mirror those on the unit’s front panel.

DS24, DS26 specifications

BBE DS26 and DS24 are innovative digital signal processors designed to enhance audio quality and provide professional-grade sound processing capabilities. Both models are part of BBE Sound’s commitment to delivering superior audio performance, making them popular choices among audio engineers, musicians, and sound enthusiasts alike.

The BBE DS26 is a multi-channel digital signal processor that offers comprehensive control over audio signals through its user-friendly interface. One of its main features is the advanced 24-bit/96kHz sample rate processing, which ensures high-fidelity sound reproduction. This model supports up to 6 inputs and 6 outputs, allowing for flexible routing and mixing configurations. Additionally, the DS26 is equipped with BBE's proprietary high-definition audio processing technology, which enhances clarity and detail in the sound, making it ideal for both live sound reinforcement and studio applications.

On the other hand, the BBE DS24 is a slightly more compact version, designed primarily for use in smaller setups without compromising on audio quality. It supports 2-channel input and output, making it an excellent option for smaller venues or personal studio use. The DS24 also features BBE's Sonic Maximizer technology, which helps restore lost clarity and dynamic range in audio signals. This feature is particularly beneficial for audio systems that have been compromised by over-compression or poor acoustics.

Both models incorporate a range of cutting-edge technologies, such as digital shelving filters and parametric equalization, which provide users with precise control over their sound. The DS26 offers additional features like delay adjustments and crossover functions, making it suitable for complex audio environments where precise timing and frequency management are essential.

In terms of build quality, both the DS26 and DS24 are designed for durability and reliability, making them capable of withstanding the rigors of live performances. They also offer multiple connectivity options, including balanced XLR and TRS outputs, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of audio equipment.

In conclusion, the BBE DS26 and DS24 are advanced digital signal processors that provide exceptional audio processing capabilities. With their high-quality sound reproduction, user-friendly interfaces, and advanced technologies, they are ideal for both professional and personal audio applications, delivering exceptional performance in a variety of settings.
