￿¡ Parameter download

To download a gamma curve and a dither pattern to the scanner.

You can modify the scanned image with your gamma curve and binalize it with your dither pattern.

Refer to your software manual for how to download these parameters to the scanner.

￿¡ Document size detection

The scanner detects the width and length of a document and sends them to the host computer.

Note: ￿ETop and right areas (shadow areas

Book mode

Document feeder mode

of the right figures) of an original must be white. If these areas are col- ored, the size may not be detected correctly.

￿EPlace an original on the contact glass along the top and right scale. Place originals on the document table tightly against both sides guides. If an original is not placed correctly , the scanner may not de- tect the size correctly.

￿¡ Skew detection

To detect at what angle the document is skewed and to send the skew angle to the host

computer.

￿¡ Semi-automatic document feed (SADF) mode

In this mode, originals which are set on the feeder one at a time are automatically fed into the

document feeder and scanned one at a time.
