VERTICAL DISCHARGE (CONT’D)

Using 4 no. 8 x 3/8” screws provided with hood, secure the chosen adapter/damper to the top of the hood. Remove tape from damper flap.

Seal the adapter/damper to the hood using duct tape.

HORIZONTAL DISCHARGE (DUCTED INSTALLATION ONLY)

The UP27I Series range hoods are factory set to exhaust vertically. If the horizontal discharge is chosen, remove the metal shut-off plate from the back of the hood, by removing its 3 screws. Set aside the screws. Discard both left and right flow deviators assembled to the metal shut-off plate.

Press the metal shut-off plate on a flat surface to completely flatten bent flange, and install on top of hood using 3 screws previously removed plus another no. 8 x 3/8” screw (from parts bag).

Fold down the foldable flange of the chosen adapter/damper. This flange must be at 90° from the remaining flanges. See picture beside.
