Donot place any object on top of charger or place the charger on a soft surface
thatmight block the ventilation slots and result in excessive internal heat. Place
thecharger in a position away from any heat source. The charger is ventilated
throughslots in the top and the bottom of the housing.
Donot mount charger on wall or permanently affix charger to any surface. The
chargeris intended to use on a flat, stable surface (i.e., table top, bench top).
Donot operate charger with damaged cord or plug — have them replaced
immediately.
Donot operate charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped, or otherwise
damagedin any way. Take it to an authorized service center.
Donot disassemble charger; take it to an authorized service center when service or
repairis required. Incorrect reassembly may result in a risk of electric shock,
electrocutionor fire.
Disconnectthe charger from the outlet before attempting any cleaning. This will
reducethe risk of electric shock. Removing the battery pack will not reduce this risk.
NEVERattempt to connect 2 chargers together.
Thecharger is designed to operate on standard household electrical power
(120Volts). Do not attempt to use it on any other voltage.

The battery pack is not fully charged out of the carton. Before using the battery pack and
charger,read the safety instructions below.Then follow charging procedures outlined.
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS
Donot incinerate the battery pack even if it is severely damaged or is completely
wornout. The battery pack can explode in a fire. Toxic fumes and materials are created
whenbattery packs are burned.
Donot charge or use batteryin explosive atmospheres, suchas in the presence of
flammableliquids, gasesor dust. Inserting or removingthe battery from the charger
mayignite the dust or fumes.
Ifbattery contents comeinto contact with the skin, immediatelywash area with mild
soapand water. If batteryliquid gets into the eye,rinse water over the open eye for 15
minutesor until irritationceases. If medical attentionis needed, the battery electrolytefor
Lithium-Ionbatteriesis composedof a mixtureof liquidorganiccarbonatesand lithiumsalts.
Contentsof opened batterycells may cause respiratoryirritation. Provide freshair. If
symptomspersist, seekmedical attention.

Chargethe battery packsonly in Black& Deckerchargers.
DONOT splash or immerse in wateror other liquids. This may causepremature cell
failure.
Donot store or use the tool andbattery pack in locations wherethe temperature
mayreach or exceed 105°F (40˚C)(such as outside sheds or metalbuildings in
summer).
WARNING:Never attempt to open the battery packfor any reason. If battery pack
caseis crackedor damaged, do not insertinto charger. Do not crush, drop or damage
batterypack. Do not use a battery pack or charger that has receiveda sharp blow, been
dropped,run over or damaged in any way (i.e., pierced witha nail, hit with a hammer,
steppedon). Damaged battery packs should be returnedto service center for recycling.
WARNING: Firehazard. Donot store or carry battery so thatmetal objects can
contactexposed batteryterminals. For example, do notplace battery in aprons,
pockets,tool boxes, productkit boxes, drawers, etc.,with loose nails, screws, keys,etc.
