Emptying the appliance (Figure F)

•Hold the appliance so that the dust collector
cover(6) is facing upwards.
•Press the cover release button (7) the dust
collectorcover (6) will open.
•While holding the appliance over a bin or
sink,lift out the filter (12) and empty the
contentsof the appliance.
•Replace the filter.
•Close the dust collector cover(6).
Note: The filters are re-usable and should be
cleaned regularly.
WARNING: Projectile/RespiratoryHazard: Never use the
appliancewithout the filters. Optimum dust collection will only be achieved with clean
filters.

Cleaning the appliance

•Regularly clean the ventilation slots in your appliance using a soft brush or dry cloth.
•Regularly clean the outside of your appliance using a damp cloth. Do not use any
abrasiveor solvent-based cleaner.
•The inside of the dust bowl can be cleaned using a soft brush or dry cloth.

Cleaning the filters

•The filters can cleaned using a soft brush or dry cloth.
•The filters can be washed in warm soapy water.
•Make sure that the filters are dry before re-fitting.

Replacing the filters

The filters should be replaced every 6 to 9 months and whenever worn or damaged.
Replacement filters are available from your Black & Decker dealer.
Visit www.blackanddecker.comto locate dealers.
•Remove the old filters as described above.
•Fit the new filters as described above.

Maintenance

Thefilter can be washed thoroughly; however,use only mild soap and a damp cloth to
cleanthe main part of the vacuum.
IMPORTANT:To assure productSAFETY and RELIABILITY,repairs, maintenanceand
adjustment(other thanthose listed in this manual) shouldbe performed by authorized
servicecentersorother qualifiedservicepersonnel,alwaysusingidenticalreplacement
parts.

Troubleshooting

If the product does not work, check the following:
Thecharge indicator light is on when unit is connected to charger.
Thecharger was correctly plugged in for recharge. (It feels slightly warm to the touch.)
Thecharger cord is not damaged and is correctly attached.
Thecharger is plugged into a working electrical outlet.
Theswitch is in the “OFF” position when charging.
