IMPORTANT: This unit is shipp ed without gasoline or
oil in the engine. After assembly, se e OPERATION
section of this manu al for proper fuel and engin e oil fill-
up.
This Chipper Shredder has been completely assembled
at the factory, except for the debris collection bag,
which is stowed in the chipper chute for ship ping.

Removing Unit From Carton

Remove staples, break glue on top flaps or cut tape
at carton end and pe el along top flap to open
carton.
Remove any loose pa rts.
Cut down along carton edges and lay carton down
flat.
Remove packing material. Lift unit from the rear
and discard bottom pad. R oll unit out of carton.
Check carton thoroughly for loose parts.

Lowering the Chipper Chute

WARNING: Ne v er operate the chipper
shredder without chippe r chute lowered in to
the operating position.
For shipping reasons, the unit is cartoned with its
chipper chute in a raised position. To pivot it downward,
into the operating position, proceed as follows:
Pull the spring latch upward and gently pivot the
chipper chute down until it clicks into the lock rod.
See Figure 2.

For convenience when s toring, the chipper chute can
be pivoted upward. To do s o, proceed as follows:
Pull the lock rod outward and pivot the chip per
chute upward until it clicks into the spring latch. See
Figure 3.
