Operation.
Water In Tank Is Cold Or Not Enough Hot
Water With Power ON.
1. This procedureassumes line voltage,
ECO and elements are in working order.
2. Adjust temperature settingfor both
thermostats to the highest setting.
3. Turn power “ON” to water heater.
4. Set multi-meter to “Volts AC”
5. Check acrossterminals L4 and T2 of
upper thermostat (see illustration 35).
A) Rated voltageNOT present,
Recheck upper ECO
(see page 14). If ECO
is okay, replace upper thermostat.
B) Rated voltageIS present,
proceed to next step.
6. Check acrossupper element terminals
(see illustration 36).
A) Rated voltageNOT present,
check wire connections from
thermostat to upper element.
B) Rated voltageIS present,
Repeat element testing
see page 15.
7. Check acrossterminal L3 of upper thermostat
and T2 of lower thermostat (see illustration37).
A) Rated voltageNOT present,
Check ECO (see page 14) & wire
connections at upper & lower
thermostats. If okay,
replace lower thermostat.
B) Rated voltageIS present,
proceed to next step.
8. Check acrosslower element terminals
(see illustration 38).
A) Rated voltageNOT present,
check lower element wire
connections to the thermostats.
B) Rated voltageIS present,
Repeat lower element testing
