2Inserting or changing the Braun «energy cell»
The appliance comes with end cap sizes: The short end cap accommodates the mini energy cell (a).
The large energy cell (b) fits into the long end cap.
•The energy supply (B) must be switched off («0»).
•Remove the end cap by turning in the direction of the arrow, then pull off.
•Insert a Braun energy cell firmly into the handle (see arrow on cell). Replace the end cap and turn against the direction of the arrow to lock it.
•The filling level of the energy cell can be checked through the opening in the end cap.
Only use Braun energy cells. These are available from the store where this appliance was purchased, as well as from authorised Braun Service Agents. The energy cells can be taken out or changed at any time, even if they are only partly filled.
3 Switching on
To start the energy supply, shift switch (B) to position «1». Wait 5 seconds.
Pull the starter switch (C) back until you can clearly hear a click.
The ignition/ready indicator (A) will light up to confirm that the appliance has ignited and is heating up.
After approx. 60 seconds, the ready indicator will turn off to indicate that the appliance has heated up and is ready for use.
The ready indicator may briefly flash during styling, whenever the appliance heats up again to maintain the optimum styling temperature.
4 Using the appliance
Styling brush 4a
To attach the styling brush (F), slip it over the barrel and push the tab firmly into the slot until it clicks into place. Remove the brush by pressing the tab, then pull the brush off.
Handle extension 4b
For more convenience when using the appliance with the short end cap, you may slide the protective cover (E) over the
short end cap, thus making the handle longer.
After use
Switch off the appliance by shifting switch
(B) back to position «0».
Cleaning
Make sure the appliance is switched off and cold. Never immerse the appliance in water.
The tong and the handle can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth.
The styling brush and the protective cover can be cleaned in warm, soapy water.
Storage
After use or cleaning, always place the heat-resistant protective cover on the appliance. It ensures that the appliance is not switched on unintentionally.
When traveling by air, please note that no more than one appliance may be carried by each crew member or passenger aboard an aircraft in checked luggage, if the protective cover is secured over the heating element. Separate gas refills are not permitted.
