We at Breville are very safety conscious. We design and manufacture consumer products with the safety of you, our valued customer, foremost in mind. In addition we ask that you exercise a degree of care when using any electrical appliance and adhere to the following instructions:
Important Safeguards for your Breville ikon™ Microwave Oven
•Carefully read all instructions before operating the Breville ikon™ Microwave Oven and save for future reference.
•Remove and safely discard any packaging material and promotional labels before using the Breville ikon™ Microwave Oven for the first time.
•To eliminate a choking hazard for young children, remove and safely discard the protective cover that is fitted to the power plug of the Breville ikon™ Microwave Oven.
•Do not place the Breville ikon™ Microwave Oven near the edge of a bench or table during operation. Ensure all surfaces are level, clean and free of water or any other substances.
•Do not place the Breville ikon™ Microwave Oven on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or where it could touch a heated oven.
•When using the Breville ikon™ Microwave Oven, provide adequate air space above and on all sides for air circulation.
•Always operate the Breville ikon™ Microwave Oven on a

•Always ensure the Breville ikon™ Microwave Oven is properly assembled before connecting to the power outlet and operating. Do not use the oven without the roller ring and glass turntable tray in place. Ensure the turntable tray is positioned correctly into the indents on the rotating shaft.
•The Breville ikon™ Microwave Oven is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote control system.
•Never use the Breville ikon™ Microwave Oven without food or water in the oven cavity. Operating the microwave oven when empty could cause damage to the appliance.
•Do not leave the Breville ikon™ Microwave Oven unattended when in use.
•Do not touch hot surfaces. Allow the Breville ikon™ Microwave Oven to cool before moving or cleaning any parts.
•Do not place or store anything on top of the Breville ikon™ Microwave Oven.
•Always ensure the Breville ikon™ Microwave Oven is turned off at the power outlet and the cord is unplugged from the power outlet before attempting to move the appliance, when not in use, if left unattended and before disassembling, cleaning or storing.
•Keep the appliance clean. Follow the cleaning instructions provided in this book (page 17).
