ASSEMBLY
Your water pump requires some assembly and is ready
for use after it has been properly serviced with the
recommended oil and fuel.

the model, revision, and serial number from the serial

for location.

Unpack Water Pump

1. Remove everything from carton.
2. Ensure you have all included items prior to
assembly.

Carton Contents

Items in the carton include:
• Water pump
• Oil bottle (SAE 30)
• Suction hose
• Parts bag (which includes the following):
This operator’s manual
Strainer basket and barb
Hose barb (2)
Barb cuff (2)
Rubber seal (2)
Hose clamp (3)
1” Garden hose adapter
Oil measure cup
If any of the above parts are missing or damaged, call
the helpline at 1–800–743–4115.

Add Engine Oil

CAUTION!Any attempt to crank or start the engine
before it has been properly serviced with the
recommended oil may result in an engine failure.
1. Lay water pump in level position on side with fuel
and oil fill facing up (Figure 1).
2. Use a rag to clear dirt and debris from around oil
fill and remove oil fill cap.
NOTE: See the section “Oil”on page 15 to review oil
recommendations.Verify provided oil bottle is correct
viscosity for current ambient temperature.
3. Keeping engine level, slowly pour entire contents
of provided oil bottle (3oz.) into oil fill opening.
4. Replace oil fill cap and fully tighten.
5. Return water pump to normal operating position.

Add Fuel

All fuel is not the same.If a star ting or performance
problem is encountered immediately after new fuel has
been used, try another service station or change
brands.
NOTE:This engine is cer tified to operate on gasoline.

WHEN ADDING FUEL
Turn water pump OFF and let it cool at least 2 minutes
before removing fuel cap.Loosen cap slowly to relieve
pressure in tank.
Fill fuel tank outdoors.
DO NOToverfill tank. Allow space for fuel expansion.
If fuel spills, wait until it evaporates before starting engine.
Keep fuel away from sparks, open flames, pilot lights,
heat, and other ignition sources.
DO NOTlight a cigarette or smoke.
Fuel and its vapors are extremely flammable
and explosive.
Fire or explosion can cause severe burns or
death.
