Starting engine creates sparking.
Sparkingcan ignite nearby flammable gases.
Explosion and fire could result.
WARNING
If thereis natural or LP gas leakage in area, do not start engine.
Donot usepressurized starting f luids because vapors are flammable.
POISONOUS GAS HAZARD. Engine exhaust contains carbon
monoxide, a poisonous gas that could kill you in minutes. You
CANNOTsee it, smel l it, or taste it. Even if youdo not smell exhaust
fumes, you could still be exposed to carbon monoxide gas. If you start
tofeel si ck, dizzy,or weak while using this product, shut it off and get
tofresh air RIGHTAWAY.See a doctor. You may have carbon
monoxide poisoning.
WARNING
Operatethis product ONLYoutside far away from windows, doors and vents to
reducethe risk of carbon monoxide gas from accumulating and potentially being
drawnt owards occupied spaces.
Installbattery --operatedcarbon monoxide alarms or plug--in carbon monoxide
alarms with battery back-up according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Smokealarms c annot detect carbon monoxide gas.
DONOT run this product inside homes, garages, basements, crawlspaces,
sheds, orother partially -enclosed spaces even if using fans or opening doors

occupiedspaces.
Rapidretraction of starter cord(kickback) will pull handand arm
towardengine faster thanyou can let go.
Brokenbones, fractures, bruises or sprains could result.
WARNING
Whenstarting engine, pullt he starter cord slowly until resistance is felt and then
pullrapidly t o avoid kickback.
Removeall external equipment /engine loads before starting engine.
Direct-coupled equipment components such as, but not limitedto, blades,
impellers, pulleys, sprockets, etc.,must be securely attached.
WARNING
Missing or inoperative “fuel lock-off” valve can cause a fire or
explosion.
Donot operate the equipment if the “fuel lock -off”valve is missingor inoperative.
Rotating parts cancontact or entangle hands, feet, hair, clothing, or

Running engines produce heat. Engine parts, especially muffler,
becomeextremely hot.
Severethermal burns can occur on contact.
Combustibledebris, such as leaves, grass, brush, etc. cancatch fire.
WARNING
Allowmuffler, engine cylinder and fins to cool before touching.
Removeaccumulated debris frommuffler area and cylinder area.
It is a violation of California Public Resource Code, Section 4442, to use or
operatethe engine on any forest-covered, brush-covered,or grass-covered land
unless the exhaust system is equipped with a spark arrester,as defined in
Section4442, maintainedin effective working order. Other states or federal
jurisdictions may haves imilarlaws. Contact t heoriginal equipment
manufacturer, retailer, or dealer to obtain a spark arrester designed for the
exhaust systeminstalled on this engine.
Unintentional sparking can result in fire or electric shock.
Unintentional start-upcan result in entanglement, traumatic
amputation, or laceration.
Fire hazard
WARNING
Before performing adjustments or repairs:
Disconnect the spark plug wire and keep it away from the spark plug.
Disconnect battery at negativeterminal (only engines with electric start.)
Useonly correct tools.
Donot tamperwith governor spring, links or other parts to increase engine
speed.
Replacement parts must be of the same design and installed in the same
positionas theoriginal parts. Other partsmay not perform as well, maydamage
theunit, andmay result in injury.
Donot strikethe f lywheel with a hammer or hard object because the flywheel
may later shatter during operation.
Whentesting for spark:
Useapproved spark plugtester.
Donot check f orspark with spark plug removed.
WARNING
Gaseousfuels are extremely flammable and readily form explosive
air-vapor mixtures at ambient temperatures.
Ifyou smell gas,
Donot start the engine.
Donot actuate any electrical switches.
Donot use a phone in the vicinity.
Evacuatethe area.
Contact the gas supplier or fire department.
