Home,Away, Sleep(programmable models only)

Thisfeature provides three button selections which selectfrom three predetermined
pairsof heat and cool setpoints. In programmed versions, one of these three choices
canbe selected for any programmed period. To change these settings,a temperature
is first selected and then the key p ressed and held, similar to setting station s on a
push--button radio. See Owner’s Manual for details.

Clock(programmable models only)

Without batteriesthe clock will continue to operate for 8 hours whilepower is
removed. With batteries, the clock opera tes until the end of the battery life.

Batteries

Battery operation is available for installa tions where there is no common (C) wire
available at the thermostat or wher e operation is to continue while the thermostatis
removed from the wall, usually to facilitate remo te (armchair) programming. For
battery operation, install tw o alkaline AA batteries. The thermosta tis d esigned to
operateup to one year on a setof batteries.A battery indicator on the display warns
whenbattery replacement is needed. See Homeowners Guide for details. If batteries
are installed and the thermostatis operated from 24VAC power, batteryoperation
will occur only when 24VAC power is not present. The changeover between
24VACpo wer and battery power is auto matic.

Display Lighting

The display has two levels of lighting, highlevel an d low level. High level lighting
comes on for10 seconds when the door is opened and/or buttons are being pressed
with 24VAC and with batteries. Low level lighting is only av ailable if the
thermostat is operated fro m 24VAC.It is n ot available with ba tteries. The low level
can be selected(see Option 18) for continuous backlight.
