b. Disconnect wires from existing thermostat,one at a time.Be carefulnot
to allow wires to fall back into the wall.
c. As each wire is disconnected, record wirecolor and terminal marking.
d. Discard or recycle old thermostat.

3. Open thermostat (mounting base) to exposemounting holes. The base can
be removed to simplifymounting. Press the thumb release atthe top of the
thermostat and snap apart carefully to separate mounting base from re-
mainderof thermostat.
4. Route thermostat wires through large hole in mounting base. Level mounting
base against wall (for aesthetic value only—thermostatneed not be level for
proper operation) and markwall through four mounting holes. To avoid unin-
tended bending of wall plate plastic,all four screws and anchors must be used.
