How many telephones can you?
All items of telephone equipment have a Ringer Equivalence Number (REN), which is used to calculate the number of items which may be connected to any other telephone line.
The BT Diverse 5410 or 5450 (with up to 6 handsets) has a total REN of 1.
Any other instrument provided by BT may be assumed to have a REN of 1 unless stated otherwise.
A total REN of 4 is allowed per telephone line. (For example, if the BT Diverse 5410 or 5450 is used in conjunction with three extension telephones, each with a REN of 1, then the total REN = 4).
