WAN	Remote Management - When
Network	enabled, remote management
Settings	will allow you to conﬁ gure your
	access point remotely over the
	Internet. A port should be speci-
	ﬁ ed between the ranges of 1 and
	65535.
	The management interface can
	then be accessed by your IP Ad-
	dress as shown and the port as
	in http://244.244.222.130:10500
	where 244.244.222.130 is the
	WAN IP Address and 10500 is
	the speciﬁ ed port.

Reply to Ping from WAN Port - When the AirStation is set to respond to Ping requests, it will acknowledge its IP Address and various other information from over the Internet. This is useful to managing remote access points and ensuring uptime, but it can be considered a security breach as well as it does distribute some minimal information about your router. At the minimum, make sure you have changed your root (administrator) password with either of these functions enabled.
