Un éclairage rouge permet à l’indication de compas d’être lue même quand la lumière est faible, et l’alimentation est automatiquement coupée après une minute pour prolonger la durée de vie de la batterie. Si l’indication ne s’allume pas, ou si l’éclairage ne s’allume faiblement, remplacez les batteries (voir ci dessus).

Avant d’utiliser le compas pour la première fois, il est nécessaire de calibrer le compas, en utilisant la procédure suivante:

PROCEDURE DE CALIBRATION DU COMPAS

Cette procédure de calibration assurera la précision des données affichées en fonction du lieu d’utilisation du compas. La calibration doit être effectuée si possible dehors, et avec les jumelles à au moins 2 mètres (7 pieds) de tout objet métallique. Il n’est pas necessaire de se positionner face au nord pour la calibration.

Pour de meilleurs résultats, le compas doit être de nouveau calibré:

1)Apres chaque changement conséquent d’emplacement depuis votre dernière calibration

2)Après un changement de pile, notamment si une marque différente est utilisée

3)Si les jumelles étaient en contact direct avec un objet métallique volumineux (par exemple une table en fer) pendant qu’elles étaient en marche (notez que l’alimentation se coupe automatiquement au bout d’une minute, donc ce n’est pas si fréquent)

POUR CALIBRER LE COMPAS: Après avoir mis en marche le compas en appuyant sur la touche « power » située sur le coté droit des jumelles, effectuez une rotation complète en faisant un cercle (360 degrés) des jumelles dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre (ou le sens inverse) et ceci sur les trois axes, dans cet ordre, en revenant à la position de départ à la fin de chaque étape (voir les schémas sur la page suivantes) :

Etape 1 : Tangage (effectuez une rotation complète, dans un plane vertical haut/bas)

Etape 2 : Lacet (effectuez une rotation complète, dans un plan horizontal gauche/droite)

Etape 3: Roulis (effectuez une rotation complète comme indiqué autour de l’axe central des
