A vantagem do Slope+/-™

A distância até a bandeira A no desenho abaixo é de 162 jardas. 162 jardas é também a distância até a bandeira B, embora haja uma inclinação. Por esse motivo, se você der uma tacada para cobrir a distância de 162 jardas, a bola (X) não alcançaria o buraco/bandeira já que a inclinação não foi considerada.

A verdade sobre inclinações

Tentar estabelecer o ângulo de uma inclinação a olho nu pode ser perigoso. A maioria de nós não tem conhecimento suficiente para determinar a inclinação de um ângulo com precisão. Por exemplo, a inclinação média da maioria dos campos de golfe é de 4 graus. Uma inclinação considerada elevada em um campo de golfe geralmente não passa de 8 graus. É evidente que isso pode variar, razão pela qual esse dispositivo medirá inclinações entre -20 a +20 graus.

Alguns exemplos práticos podem ajudar a esclarecer! Nos EUA, a declividade moderada de um telhado é 6/12, ou seja, o telhado sobe seis polegadas em cada 12 polegadas de distância horizontal. Isso equivale a 26,5 graus. Você pode subir essa inclinação ao colocar a decoração das luzes de Natal, mas subir a mesma inclinação na extensão de uma boa tacada em um campo de golfe poderia se tornar exaustivo. Para verificar uma tacada de 180 metros, seria necessário subir 90 metros!

Exemplo no jogo de golfe: Vamos assumir que você é um ótimo jogador, capaz de lançar a bola a 210 metros de distância. Com um ângulo de 20 graus, o marco com a bandeira estaria 15 metros acima de você. Em outras palavras, a bola precisaria ser lançada a uma altura que equivale ao topo de um prédio de cinco andares!!!
