When testing or using the unit in the dark, remove the objective lens cap and activate the unit by pushing the ON Button. The green Power LED (4) indicates that the unit’s power is on. Always remember to turn the unit off when done. Do not store this unit while the indicator is lit.

CAUTION: This unit can be used in extreme cold weather. However, when the unit is brought back into a warm environment, you must wait approximately 5 hours before using the unit again. Damage may occur due to condensation that may have accumulated on the internal circuitry of the unit.

USING THE INFRARED (IR) ILLUMINATOR

Your Equinox Night Vision offers a built-in Infrared Illuminator (5). This allows you to see even in complete darkness where no ambient light source, such as moonlight, is available. To activate, simply press the IR Button (6) located next to the ON Button. The red IR LED (7) indicates that the Illuminator is on. The IR Illuminator beam features an adjustable coverage angle. To narrow the beam, turn the IR Illuminator Hood

(8)counterclockwise and pull forward. To make the beam wider, push the IR Illuminator Hood (8) back and turn it clockwise.

FOCUSING

Direct the unit at an object at a distance of approximately 100 yards and rotate the Eyepiece Ring (9) to give the best image quality for your eyesight. After making this adjustment, it should not be necessary to change the setting of the eyepiece unless it is moved accidently. You will use just the Objective Lens Ring (10) to focus on objects at different distances. Direct the unit at the subject to be viewed and adjust the final focus by rotating the Objective Lens Ring (10) until the image appears as sharp as possible.
