Após calcular os valores em mil para cada imagem, basta adicioná-las para obter o valor total do azimute. Na imagem abaixo (Fig. 3), o navio é mais longo do que os 100 mil totais disponíveis no retículo. Entretanto, utilizando o método de cálculo descrito previamente, pode-se obter o azimute total do navio, ou seja, 130 mil (60 + 70).

Ângulo superior e inferior é o ângulo entre dois alvos quaisquer (ou duas extremidades de um mesmo alvo) contra a linha verti- cal no retículo.

A medida do ângulo superior e inferior é similar a do azimute. Quando ela for muito pequena, aponte o centro da cruz do retículo para a parte inferior do alvo, leia o valor da escala no topo do alvo. O valor corresponde aos mil compreendidos entre as partes superior e inferior. Como indicado na Fig. 4, o valor da parte inferior é 40, o ângulo compreendido entre as partes superior e inferior do alvo é: (280751) 0-75 (75 mil) / (280750) 0-60 (60 mil).
