Connect a fiber optic segment to the SmartSwitch as follows:

1.Remove protective covers from the fiber optic segment or MT-RJ port.

NOTE

Leave protective covers on the fiber optic cable or fiber optic ports until they are connected to protect the connectors from dust and dirt. If a segment is removed from the SmartSwitch, the protective covers should be replaced until the segment is re-installed.

2.Connect the fiber optic segment to the SmartSwitch by inserting the MT-RJ connector into the desired port until the release tab catches, as shown in Figure 3-2.
