Troubleshooting
Recording images to the memory card takes along time, or continuous
shooting slows down.
Perforrn alow-level forrnatof the mernory card inthe carnera (p.165).
Cannot make settings for shooting functions or FUNC. menu.
The items inwhich settings canbemade differ depending ontheshooting mode.Refer
to"Functions Availablein Each Shooting Mode" and "Shooting Menu" (pp. 192 - 197).
Shooting Movies
Correct shooting time does not display, or stops.
Format the memory card in the camera, oruse a memory card capable of recording at
high speeds. Even when the shooting time does not display properly, the recorded
video will bethe length that itwas actually shot (pp. 23, 32).
10 appeared on the screen and shooting ended automatically.
The carnera's internal mernory was insufficient. Try one ofthe following:
Perform a tow-level format of the memory card in the camera (p. 165).
Change the image quality setting (p. 116).
Usea memory card capable ofrecording at high speeds (p. 116).
Subject appears distorted.
The subject may appear distorted if it passes quickly in front of thecamera while
shooting.
Playback
Cannot play back images or movies.
Ifthe file name orfolder structure is changed on a computer, you may not be able to
ptay backimages ormovies. Refer to the Software Guidefor information regarding
folder structure orfile names.
Playback stops, or audio cuts out.
Usea memory card that has had a low-level format performed onit with this camera
(p. 165).
Ifyou copy amovie to a memory cardthat readsslowly, playback may interrupt
momentarily.
Depending on itscapabilities, when playing movieson a computer, frames maydrop or
theaudio maycut out.

Touch operations do not work as expected.
Sincethe carnera uses a pressure sensitive touch panel, try touching thescreen slightly
harder or usethe toggle attached to the strap (p. 14).
Calibrate thetouch panel (p. 170).
!_ appears on the upper right of the screen.
Youare touching the upper right part of the screen. Take your finger off the screen.
