The image stabilizer cannot be turned off when the mode dial is set to .

We recommend turning off the image stabilizer when using a tripod.

FOCUS PRI.: The camcorder records the still image only after the focus has been adjusted.

Set it to [OFF] if you wish to record a still image as soon as you press the PHOTO button. When set to [OFF], no focusing frame appears.

Focus priority cannot be turned off when the mode dial is set to .

In the Fireworks recording program (SCN) the setting is automatically turned off.

SPOT AE PT.: Decides what frame will be used for measuring the light when the metering method in the FUNC. menu is set to [SPOT].

[CENTER]: The exposure will be adjusted according to the subject in the center of the picture.

[AF POINT]: The exposure will be tied to the autofocus frames and adjusted according to the subject or subjects in the one or more AF frames selected.

The spot AE point is set to [CENTER] in all recording programs except , Tv or Av.

The last setting will be retained even if you change the position of the mode dial.

ND: Will automatically activate the ND (neutral density) filter in surroundings that are too bright.

The ND filter can only be used when the mode dial is set to .

REVIEW: Selects the time to display a still image after it has been recorded on the memory card.

You can erase ( 92) or protect ( 96) the image if you press the FUNC. button while you are reviewing the image (or immediately after recording it, if set to [OFF]).

This menu item will not be available when (continuous shooting), (high-speed continuous shooting) or (auto exposure bracketing) is selected.

WIND SCREEN: When activated, the camcorder will reduce the background sound of wind when recording outdoors.

Set the mode dial to a position other than .

Some low-frequency sounds will be suppressed along with the sound of wind. We recommend to leave the wind screen [OFF] for most recording environments.
