If there is a problem, first refer to this Troubleshooting Guide. If this
Troubleshooting Guide does not resolve the problem, contact your
dealer or nearest Canon Service Center.
You are using the wrong battery.
XDo not recharge any battery pack other than Battery Pack BP-
511A, BP-514, BP-511, or BP-512.
The battery is not properly attached to the battery charger.
XAttach the battery properly to the charger. (p.22)
The battery is exhausted.
XRecharge the battery. (p.22)
The battery is not installed properly.
XInstall the battery properly. (p.24)
Battery compartment cover is not closed.
XClose the battery compartment cover securely. (p.24)
CF card slot cover is not closed.

If you set the <4> switch to <2> right after shooting, the
access lamp will still light/blink for a few seconds while the
image is recorded onto the CF card.

When the camera finishes recording the image to the CF card, the access
lamp will stop blinking and the power will turn off automatically.
The battery is not fully charged.
XRecharge the battery fully. (p.22)
The battery’s service life has expired.
XReplace the battery with a new one.
