Manual Exposure Adjustment
1Push the joystick () to display the joystick guide.
2Select () [EXPOSURE ] and
press .
•The exposure adjustment indicator
and the neutral value [±0] appear on the screen.
•The adjustment range and the length of the exposure adjustment indicator will vary depending on the initial brightness of the picture.
3Adjust the () the brightness of the image as required.
•If you operate the zoom lever during exposure lock, the brightness of the image may change.
•During exposure lock, press to return the camcorder to automatic exposure.
Manual Focus Adjustment
Autofocus may not work well on the following subjects. In such case, focus manually.
•Reflective surfaces
•Subjects with low contrast or without vertical lines
•Fast moving subjects
•Through wet windows
•Night scenes

[MF] appears on the screen.
3Adjust () the focus as necessary.
•The focus will be locked.
•During focus lock, press to return the camcorder to autofocus.
Infinity Focus
Use this function when you wish to focus on faraway subjects such as mountains or fireworks.
Instead of step 3 in the previous procedure:
Push the joystick () toward and hold it down.
• appears.
•If you operate the zoom or push the
joystick () and hold it down, changes to [MF] and the camcorder returns to manual focus.
