Naming conventions of cameras having shooting modes capable of settable aperture values:

Olympus

A (Aperture Priority Mode)

/

M (Manual Mode)

Canon

Av (Aperture Priority AE)

/

M (Manual Exposure)

Nikon

A (Aperture Priority Auto)

/

M (Manual)

By setting the D-180 to External Auto as described above, imaging with external strobes is easier compared to conventional strobes using manual flash adjustment. However, in order to achieve “proper” exposure of various subjects and shooting conditions it is necessary to have a deep understanding of “exposure”, especially the relationship between exposure from natural ambient light and exposure from strobe light. (See Ref. No. 8, page 42)
