Playback

During playback there is video noise.

- Video heads are dirty. Clean the video heads ( 2).

Playback does not start.

- Load a cassette ( 25).

- Set the camcorder to ( 31).

- Tape reached the end (“ END” appears on the screen). Rewind the tape ( 25).

No sound from the built-in speaker.

- Open the LCD panel.

- Speaker volume is turned off. Adjust the volume with the [SPEAKER VOLUME] setting ( 32).

Image will not appear on the TV screen.

- Check again that the camcorder is properly connected to the TV ( 47).

Tape is running, but image will not appear on the TV screen.

- TV/VIDEO selector on the TV is not set to VIDEO. Set the selector to VIDEO ( 48).

- Video heads are dirty. Clean the video heads ( 2).

- You attempted to play back or dub a copyright protected tape. Stop playback/dubbing.

- Battery pack is exhausted. Replace or charge the battery pack ( 15).

CHECK THE CASSETTE [AUDIO MODE]

- You attempted to dub audio ( 49) on a tape recorded with an audio mode other than [ 12bit].

CHECK THE CASSETTE [BLANK]

- You attempted to dub audio ( 49) on a tape with a blank section.

CHECK THE CASSETTE [INCORRECT TAPE SPECIFICATION]

- You attempted to dub audio ( 49) on a tape recorded in HD (high definition) standard.

CHECK THE CASSETTE [REC MODE]

- You attempted to dub audio ( 49) on a tape recorded in a recording mode other than SP.

CONDENSATION HAS BEEN DETECTED

- Condensation has been detected in the camcorder ( 66).

CONDENSATION HAS BEEN DETECTED REMOVE THE CASSETTE

- Condensation has been detected in the camcorder ( 66). Remove the cassette.

HEADS DIRTY, USE CLEANING CASSETTE

- Video heads are dirty. Clean the video heads ( 2).
