Basic Functions

Turning the Camera On

1 Press the main switch until the green indicator begins flashing.

The lens extends, and the LCD monitor displays current shooting settings for about 6 seconds.

The LCD monitor displays an image.

Indicator

If the Set Date/Time menu appears, set the date and time ( p. 24).

•The lens remains extended while the mode

dial is set to , , or . If you turn the mode dial to , the lens will retract after approximately 1 minute.

•If the auto power down function activates, press the main switch again to restore power.
