Power is not turned on.

Memory card slot/battery cover is open.

Battery charge insufficient to operate camera ("Change the battery pack" message displays). Poor contact between camera and battery terminals,

The camera's horizontal/ vertical orientation was

changed,

•Press the power button (Basic Guide p. 10).

eConfirm that the memory card slot/ battery cover is securely closed (Basic Guide p. 8).

elnsert a fully charged battery into the camera (Basic Guide p. 7).

eUse the AC Adapter Kit ACK-DC30 (sold separately) (p. 134).

ePotish the terminals with a soft cotton swab before charging or using the battery (p. 130).

eThe camera's orientation mechanism is operating. There is no

malfunction.

The SD memory card's and SDHC memory card'swrite protect tab is set to "Write protect".

The built-in rechargeable

lithium battery charge is low.

•When recording to, erasing from or formatting the memory card, slide the write protect tab upward (p. 132).

•Recharge the built-in battery immediately (Basic Guide p. 9).
