ReassembleInd oor Unit

1. Reinstall filters and inlet g rilles

START--UP

PreliminaryChecks

1. Check condensatedrainage system; on the opposite sideof
the drain connection, insert a water bottle u p into the fan
coil unit and fill the drain pan (see Fig. 27 ). Watermust
flowsteadily; if not, check the pipe slope or inspectfor any
piperestrictions.

2. Make sure allwiring connections are correctand they are
tight.
3. Field electrical power source must agree with un it name
platerating.
4. Check that all barriers, covers, and panels are in place. En-
sure that the filters and return--air grilles on the indoor unit
havebeen installed and that the dischargelouvers are posi-
tioned correctly.
5. All servicevalves must be closed.
6. On units with crankcase heaters, ensu re belly--bandheaters
aretight around the compressor.

Evacuate and Dehydrate the System

Neveruse the system compressoras a vacuum pump.
UsingVacuum Pump
1. Completely tightenflare nuts A, B, C, D, connect manifold
gage chargehose to a charge port of the low side service
valve. (See Fig. 28.)
2. Connect chargehose to vacuum pump.
3. Fully open the low side of manifoldgage. (See Fig. 29.)
4. Start vacuum pump
5. Evacuate using either deep vacuum or triple evacuation
method.
6. After evacuation is complete, fully close the low side of
manifoldgage and stop operationof vacuum pump.
7. The factory chargecontained in the outdoor unitis good for
upto 25 ft. (8 m) of linelength. For refrigerantlines longer
than25 ft (8 m), add 0.3 oz. per foot of extrapiping up to
themaximum allowable length.
8. Disconnectcharge hose from charge connectionof the low
side service valve.
9. Fully open servicevalves B and A.
10. Securely tighten caps of servi cev alves.
