4. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Configuring the Starting Address

The Abyss™ LED 3.0 fixture uses two DMX channels. The highest c hannel that the f ixture may
be set to in order t o function properly is 511. Any address higher than this will prevent acc ess to
all of the channels. If this is your first time using DMX, we recommend readin g the “DMX Primer”
section in the “App endix”.

DMX Operation

This is the operating mode whic h will allow for control with an ext ernal DMX controller. You mus t
set the starting add ress for this mod e.
Mode DIP switches
DMX 1~9 = s et to the DMX starti ng address
10 = On

Master/Slave Mode (Standalone)

This mode allows a single unit to auto c hange in Standal one Mode.
Turn switch to the Slave position on th e slave units, and t hey will react th e same as the Master .
The Master must b e set to standalone m ode.
Mode DIP switches
Slave 1, 10 = On

Standalone

This fixture has preprogr ammed operating modes. T hese are accessed vi a the DIP switches on
the back of the fixture.
DIP switch [10] must be OFF in this mode.

The DIP switches will not wor k together. Only use one out of the 4 modes listed above!
If you desire a specific static color, such as yellow, then swit ch t he unit int o a mod e wh ere
the color wheel is moving. W hen the color wheel rotates to th e desired color, switch the
fixture into a mode that doe s NOT have the color wheel moving. ( DIP switch [1] or [2])
