General Maintenance
To maintain optimu m performance and m inimize wear, fixtur es should be clean ed frequently.
Usage and environ ment are contributin g factors in determ ining frequency. As a general rule,
fixtures should b e cleaned at least twi ce a month. Dust bu ild up reduces lig ht output performance
and can cause overh eating. This can lead to reduced life and inc reased mechanical wear. Be
sure to power off f ixture before conduc ting maintenance.
· Unplug fixture fr om power.
· Use a vacuum or air compress or and a soft brush to remove dust coll ected on external
vents.
· Clean all lenses when the f ixture is cool with a mild solution of glass cleaner or
Isopropyl Alcohol and a soft lint free c otton cloth or lens tissue.
· Apply solution to t he cloth or tissue an d drag dirt and gr ime to the outside of the lens .
· Gently polish optic al surfaces until th ey are free of haze and lint.
The cleaning of external opt ical lenses and/or mirrors mus t be carried out periodicall y to optimize
light output. Cleaning fr equency depends on the environ ment in which the fixture oper ates.
Damp, smoky or part icularly dirty surr oundings can caus e greater accumul ation of dirt on the
unit’s optics. Clean with soft cloth using normal glass clean ing fluid. Clean the extern al optics at
least every 20 days. Clean the fixture at least every 30/60 days.
Always dry the part s carefully after cle aning them.
Never spin a fan u sing compressed air.
