Figure 3-8shows how to connect the 48-VDC Power over Ethernet (PoE) power adapter in your Cisco 880 series ISR to an AC power outlet. The PoE provides power to port 0 and port 1 of the 4-port 10/100 FastEthernet switch.

Note The router should also be connected to an AC power outlet through a 12-V adapter. To connect the router to an AC outlet, see “Connecting the AC Adapter” section on page 3-11.
