3 Initial Setup
When you set up the switch to enter the initial IP information, the switch can then connect to local routers and the Internet. For
further configuration, access the switch CLI.
Your switch might look different from the illustrations, but the instructions apply to all the Cisco ME switches. Some
instructions depend on whether the switch uses AC or DC power.

To prevent bodily injury when mounting or servicing this unit in a rack, you must take special precautions to

•This unit should be mounted at the bottom of the rack if it is the only unit in the rack.
•When mounting this unit in a partially filled rack, load the rack from the bottom to the top with the heaviest component at the
