Note The management server is sometimes called the Database server. The presentation server is sometimes
called the client, GUI, or Application server. To avoid confusion, this document uses Management server
and Presentation server consistently, and these terms describe the machines in a distributed
configuration, not the software that resides on t he m.
Note Cisco MGC Node Manager supports ten simultaneous X termi nal us ers, de pendi ng o n your proc essi ng
resources, network size, and the version of Cisco EMF you are running.
Supported Configurations
These configurations are supported:
•Cisco MGC Node Manager and Cisco VSPT installed together on a net work m ana geme nt se rver.
(Recommended)
•Cisco MGC Node Manager installed on a network management server and Cisco V SPT installed on
a Cisco PGW host machine.
