VoiceActivatedTransmit(VOX) •

InVOX mode, your microTALK radio can be used “hands-free,”

automaticallytransmitting when you speak. You can set the VOX

sensitivitylevel to fit the volume of your voice and avoid

transmissionstriggered by background noise.

Toturn VOX mode on or off:

1.Press the Mode/Lock button until the VOX

iconflashes on the display. The current on

oroff setting is displayed.

2.Press the Channel Up or Channel Down

buttonto turn VOX on or off.

3.Choose one of the following:

a.Press the Mode/Lock button to enter the

selectedon or off setting and proceed to

otherfunctions.

b.Press the Enter/Hi•Low button to enter

theselected on or off setting and return

toStandby mode.

Toset VOX sensitivity:

1.Press the Mode/Lock button until the VOX

iconflashes and the current sensitivity level

isdisplayed.

Thecurrent sensitivity level is displayed

withletters “LE” and a Number 01

through05, with Number 05 being the

mostsensitive level and Number 01

beingthe least sensitive level.

2.Press the Channel Up or Channel Down

buttonto change the setting.

3.Choose one of the following:

a.Press the Mode/Lock button to enter

theselected setting and proceed to

otherfunctions.

b.Press the Enter/Hi•Low button to

enterthe selected setting and return

toStandby mode.

Youcan use your microTALK radio to listen to NOAA All Hazards

Radiochannels transmitting in your area.

Tolisten to All Hazards Radio channels:

1.Press the Mode/Lock button until the

AllHazards Radio icon, the currently

selectedAll Hazards Radio channel,

andsignal strength are displayed.

2.Use the Channel Up or Channel Down

buttonto change All Hazards Radio channels.

3.The All Hazards Radio icon will continue to

bedisplayed when All Hazards Radio is on.

Chooseone of the following:

a.Press the Mode/Lock button to proceed

toother functions.

b.Press the Enter/Hi-Low button to exit

AllHazards Radio channel mode and

returnto Standby mode.

c.Press Talk button to exit and start on

lastused transmitting channel.
