Mode Functions
MemoryLocationScan
YourmicroTALK radio can automatically scan up to
10programmed Memory Locations.
Ifthere are one or fewer memory locations
programmedin your radio, the scan memory
locationsoption will not be available. To program
atleast two memory locations, see program
memorylocations on page 12.
Toscan memory locations:
1.Press the Mode/Lock button until the Scan
icon,Memory icon and the memory location
numberflash on the display.
2.Press the ChannelUp or ChannelDown
buttonto begin scanning memory locations.
TheScan icon and the Memory icon will
continueto be displayed when memory
locationscan is on. Your radio will continue
toscan memory locations and stop if an
incomingtransmission is detected. Your
radiowill remain on that memory location
for10 seconds.
Whilesetting memory location scan, if you
donot press any buttons for 15 seconds,
yourradio will automatically return to
Standbymode on the channel/privacy code
displayedbefore you entered mode functions.
Duringmemory location scan (while receiving an Incoming
transmission),you can choose from the following:
a.Press and hold the Talk button to communicate on that
memorylocation. Your radio will remain on that memory
locationand after 10 seconds of no activity, radio will start
memorylocation scan again.
b.Press the ChannelUp or ChannelDownbutton to resume
scanningmemory locations.
Ifyou press the Talk button while scanning, but more than
10seconds after receiving a transmission, you will transmit on
thememory location on which, during scanning, you last received
atransmission. This will return the radio to Standby mode.
Ifyou do not press any button within 10 seconds, your radio
willautomatically resume scanning memory locations.
Duringmemory location scan (while not receiving a
transmission),you can choose from the following:
a.Press and hold the Talk button to communicate on the
channel/privacycode that was displayed before you entered
modefunctions or memory location on which, during
scanning,you last received a transmission.
b.Press the Mode/Lock button to proceed to other functions.
c.Press the Enter/Hi•Low button to return to Standby mode
onthe channel/privacy code that was displayed before you
enteredmode functions or the memory location on which,
duringscanning, you last received a transmission.
Toreduce the number of memory locations being scanned,
youmay de-program any unwanted locations. (See page 14
tode-program a memory location.)
10Call ToneSettings
Youcan choose from 10 different call tone settings to transmit
aunique call alert.
Tochange a call tone setting:
1.Press the Mode button until the letter “C” and
thecurrent call tone number (01 through 10)
isdisplayed.
2.Press the Channel Up or Channel Down
buttonto hear the other call tone settings.
3.Choose one of thefollowing:
a.Press the Mode/Lock button to enter the
newsetting and proceed to other functions.
b.Press the Enter/Hi•Low button to enter the
newsetting and return to Standby mode.
