SCSI Connectors

Use the SCSI connectors to connect external SCSI devices such as DDS-for- mat tape drives and CD-ROM drives. Consult the documentation that accompanies each SCSI device for specific information concerning its use. Refer to Appendix C of this manual for information about connecting SCSI devices to your workstation.

There must ALWAYS be a terminator at both ends of a SCSI bus. This means one internal terminator and one external terminator. The Fast-Wide Differential SCSI, Ultra-wide, Single-Ended SCSI and Narrow Single- Ended SCSI connectors must have a terminator connected when no external device is connected. Note that the fast, wide differential terminators, ultra-wide, single-ended terminators and the narrow single- ended terminators are different and not interchangeable.

The C200/C240/C360 workstations have an Ultra Wide-SE SCSI interface in place of the Fast-Wide SCSI interface. These interfaces are not compatible. Connecting a Fast-Wide device to an Ultra Wide-SE interface will not work and may damage the device. Be sure to connect only Fast-Wide devices to a Fast- Wide interface and Ultra Wide-SE devices to an Ultra Wide-SE interface.

TOC Button

The TOC button resets the system and transfers control from the default device to an auxiliary device.

Power Cord Connector

Plug the workstation’s power cord into the power cord connector to provide ac power to the system.
