Amplifier without preamplifier/subwoofer output terminal (Fig. 2)

You should only employ the passive solution if you do not have a preampli- fier output terminal on your amplifier. AW 8/10 is operated by the speaker signal from your amplifier/surround sound receiver.

Connect the front speakers to the speaker output terminals on AW 8/10

AW 8/10 is operated by a signal from your preamplifier/surround decoder. AW 8/10 operates the front speakers via the built-in active crossover net- work and a separate power amplifier.
