Functions not supported by playing audio file

The following functions are not supported when the DN- C640 encounters discs recorded with these types of audio files.

Index skip function is not available.

While half-sample rate audio file, MPEG1-L2 (24kHz, 22.05kHz, 16kHz) and MPEG2-L3 (24kHz, 22.05kHz, 16kHz) are playable; signal to the digital outputs is not available if the Digital FS is set to "Auto" mode in the preset menu.

Handled audio files as “track” and playing audio file

A directory (also called a “folder”) is a hierarchical level on disc media or the network drive.

After loading a data disc and searching all audio files, the DN-C640 assigns each audio file a track number.

Only the files within the selected directory will be the target of your operations, and functions such as program playback and repeat playback will all occur within the same directory.

Displays information

When a data disc is inserted into the DN-C640, various kind of information are displayed on the 13-digit alphanumeric part of the display unit.

When in play, pause, search, end mon. or cue state, the following information is displayed in order by pressing the DISPLAY/LOCK button.

Remaining time

File name

File information

:sample frequency, bit rate or resolution, and file format (PCM, MP2, MP3, WMA)

- Recorded date

: year, month and day. [MMMDD YYY]

- Recorded time

: hour, minute and second. [HH:mm:SS]

For example in the illustration below, at first each audio file is assigned a track number. Directory-AAA, directory-

BBBand directory-DDD contain audio files and can be selected for operations, but directory-CCC is excluded from operations.

If directory-AAA is selected, CD operations such as program playback are effective only to audio files of directory-AAA, it means aaa001.mp3/track# 003 and bbb001.mp3/track# 004 are effective for operation.

Text information

When a data disc with MP3 files, is inserted into the DN- C640, in addition to above information various kind of text information are displayed on the 13-digit alphanumeric part of the display unit. This information is recorded in a MP3 file as ID3 tag.

When in play, pause, search, end mon. or cue state, the following information is displayed in order by pressing the PITCH/TEXT button with the unit in SHIFT mode.
