Direct Playback

BD-V DVD-V DVD-VR CD

1Press <ON/STANDBY> or [POWER ON].

This indicator lights up in red in standby mode and turns off when the power is on.

2Turn on the display device and select the appropriate input on the device to which the unit is connected. (HDMI CEC)

3Press A to open the disc tray.

4Place the disc on the disc tray with its label side facing up.

Press A to close the disc tray.

It may take a while to load the disc.

Some discs may start playback automatically.

6Press B to start playback.

For many of BD-video and DVD-video, a menu screen may appear.

In this case, use [U/ V/ Y/ Z] to select the desired item, then press [ENTER].

7Press C once to stop playback temporarily. Refer to “Resume Playback” on page 16.

To eject the disc:

Press A to open the disc tray, then remove the disc before turning off the unit.

HDMI CEC

HDMI CEC allows integrated system control over HDMI and is part of the HDMI standard.

In addition to DENON AV components, it allows interoperability with CEC- compatible AV components and TVs made by other manufacturers. This function may not work properly depending on a device to be connected.

To set “HDMI CEC”, press [SETUP], then select “Custom” A “Others” A“HDMI CEC”.

When “HDMI CEC” setting is set to “On”, functions listed below will be available.

One Touch Play

When this unit is turned on, the connected devices are also turned on and the appropriate external input source will be selected automatically. The appropriate external input source can also be selected automatically, when you press B when the unit’s power is on.

Standby

When the connected HDMI CEC compatible display device is turned off, this unit may also turn off together.

Note

Power continues to be supplied to some of the circuitry even when the power is in the standby mode. When leaving home for long periods of time or when traveling, unplug the AC cord from the AC outlet.

may appear at the top-right on the screen when the operation is prohibited by the disc or this unit.

During the playback of 2-layered disc, pictures may stop for a moment. This happens when the 1st layer switches to the 2nd layer. This is not a malfunction.

The operation may vary when you play back BD/DVD with disc menu. Refer to the manual accompanying the disc for details.

HDMI CEC is available only when the display device is connected by an HDMI cable, and when it supports HDMI CEC feature.
