POTENCIA REQUERIDA PARA EL ARRANQUE

1.Algunos artefactos y herramientas tendrán los requerimientos de voltajes y amperajes de arranque y funcionamiento en la placa del nombre del motor. Usar la siguiente formula para convertir voltaje y amperaje a potencia (Watts):

Volts X Ampers = Vatios

120 volts x 10 ampers = 1 200 W

2.Para determinar la demanda aproximada de potencia de arranque para herramientas y artefactos con motor tipo inductivo, multiplicar los vatios calculados por un factor de entre 2 a 4 para asegurarse de la capacidad adecuada del generador. De no estar disponible la información en la placa del nombre, usar como guía los valores indicados en la tabla siguiente.

3.Recordar que la potencia de arranque y de funcionamiento de los artefactos con carga resistiva es la misma. (Ejemplo: un foco de 100 W sólo requiere 100 W para encenderse.) La mayor parte de las cargas resistivas estarán listadas en vatios.
