Basic Usage

POWER ON AND OFF

1.Slide theswitch up once to power on the media player. After startup ani- mation, you will see the main menu and can then continue using the media player. The DMP040 must be docked or utilize the AC Power Adapter.

2.To power off the media player, slide the button up again. The following message will display, and the media player will shut down.

NOTE: If the media player can not be shut down by one short press, press and hold the power switch in the up position for 5-seconds, this forces power off.

VOLUME ADJUSTMENT—MUSIC

The volume while playing a MP3 can be adjusted from the unit or by using the remote control.

VOLUME CONTROL—UNIT

To adjust the volume from the unit while playing a MP3 file, press the “R” but- ton on the unit. The volume adjustment bar will display.

Press the Navigation button to the right or left to increase or decrease the vol- ume. Press the Navigation button in to exit the volume adjustment, or wait about 5-seconds and the volume adjustment bar will disappear. The volume sta-
