Adjusting Power Saver

To adjust the Power Saver setting:

1Make sure the printer is on and Ready appears on the display.

2Press Encrypting the disk on the operator panel.

3Press Manual background until Manual background Settings appears, and then press Manual background .

4Press Manual background until Manual background Setup Menu appears, and then press Manual background .

5Press Manual background until Manual background Power Saver appears, and then press Manual background .

6Using the numeric pad or the right and left arrows on the operator panel, enter the number of minutes for the printer to wait before entering Power Saver.

The settings available range from 2–240 minutes.

7Press Manual background .

Submitting Selection appears.

Note: You can also adjust the Power Saver setting by issuing a Printer Job Language (PJL) command. For more information, see the Technical Reference available on our Lexmark Web site at www.lexmark.com.

Encrypting the disk

Warning: All resources on the hard disk will be deleted. (Resources residing in flash memory or in RAM remain unaffected.)

Note: This setting is only available when a hard disk is installed.

1Turn the printer off.

2Press and hold Manual background and Manual background while turning the printer on.

3Release both buttons when Performing Self Test appears on the display.

The printer performs its power-on sequence, and then Config Menu appears on the first line of the display.

4Press Manual background until Manual background Disk Encryption appears, and then press Manual background .

5Press Manual background until Manual background Enable appears, and then press Manual background .

Contents will be lost. Continue? appears.

6Press Manual background until Manual background Yes appears, and then press Manual background . The Encrypting Disk progress bar appears.

7When disk encryption has finished, press Manual background .

8Press Manual background until Manual background Exit Config Menu appears, and then press Manual background .

To disable disk encryption:

1Turn the printer off.

2Press and hold Manual background and Manual background while turning the printer on.

3Release both buttons when Performing Self Test appears on the display.

The printer performs its power-on sequence, and then Config Menu appears on the first line of the display.

4Press Manual background until Manual background Disk Encryption appears, and then press Manual background .
