How to cancel the Memory Stick security

The security function can be canceled when the security code that has been recorded with the deck is entered and verified.

Canceling the security function can be done by entering the security code into the deck, or by using the Memory Stick.

Canceling the security function by entering the security code

Check that the unit is in standby.

Press and hold the [FUNC] button, then button [6], and hold both for more than one second.

A [SEC] message appears, then in two seconds it will change to [- - - -] (Security code input display).

A security code is entered by pressing the buttons [1] to [4].

Enter a four-digit security code using digits 0 to 9, A to F. The number (shown on the display) changes in ascending order between 0 and 9, A and F each time the button is pressed. Each button number (1 to 4) corresponds to each digit (first to fourth) of the security code.

Press the [FUNC] button.

If a security code is entered and the deck verifies that it is correct, [CANCEL] will appear on the display and the security function will be canceled.

If the security code that is entered does not match the code that is recorded by the deck, [ERR] will appear on the display for two seconds and operation will continue as normal without the security function being canceled.
