How to resume normal operation (ESN security lock out)

If power is disconnected while ESN security is active (a security code was recorded), operation is disabled until power is restored and the unit unlocked. Follow this procedure to resume normal operation.

ESN security lock can be canceled by directly entering the security code into the deck, or by using the Memory Stick that was being used when the security code was recorded.

Canceling ESN security lock out using security code entry

When the power is turned on after disconnecting the battery power, a [SEC] message will appear for two seconds. Thereafter, message changes to [- - - -] (Security code input display).

A security code is entered by pressing the buttons [1] to [4].

Enter a four-digit security code using digits 0 to 9, A to F. The number (shown on the display) changes in ascending order between 0 and 9, A and F each time the button is pressed. Each button number (1 to 4) corresponds to each digit (first to fourth) of the security code.
